Anna Praises Modi: Criticises AK!

I wish to start with my own article- http://www.hastakshep.com/english/opinion/2014/03/17/anna-supports-mamta-fall-of-anna#.U4gOV2brZy0 (Anna supports Mamta, Fall of Anna)

And now: - Anna praises Modi government, says Kejriwal got ‘carried away’! http://indianexpress.com/article/india/politics/anna-praises-modi-govt-says-kejriwal-got-carried-away/
Looking back, Anna always harmed AAP. Remember, his tirade against AK and AAP just few days before Delhi VS election, where he said, ‘donation money’ was with AK and he has not settled the account yet? That was absolutely false and media, BJP, Congress utilised that statement maximum to belittle the mass movement.
Later he supported Mamta Banerjee as PM candidate, which I have elaborated in the above quoted article, but Anna backtracked sooner than later, probably on the advice of his inner circle who were closely working with BJP and corporates, like VK Singh, Kiran Bedi etc. as Mamta’s rise was likely to harm Modi more than AK!

Now when AAP needs maximum support and favourable situation to revive its cadres’ morale, strengthen party’s organisation, philosophies before the next election, regain people’s faith; the corporates’ advisors thought it necessary to attack Arvind Kejriwal at this crucial point, so that his party’s capabilities to revive is demolished and corporates’ control over the government and our natural wealth, market remains unchallenged! Anna obliged!!
In the final analysis, Anna, even if he did not plan to support the RSS plot to capture power with the help of our corporate and foreign investors but surely now he is supporting their move consciously. I quote AK “Anna is misadvised”; is wrong, we must understand that Anna Hazare is not a child, he has seen enough politics and is responsible as a mass leader whatever he says or does! Whatever, his action is harming people’s unity against corporates’ assisted corrupt system!
Sounds harsh for most of the JLPB movement supporters, but revolution, a serious business for the people, demands concrete analysis of concrete situation for its success and there is nothing like being harsh to distractive move!

Anna has deserted the mass movement and helped degrade the rare chance of India to be free of corruption, crime, unemployment after 1974-77 rise! AAP and its leader AK, youths, volunteers must understand this big vicious circle of RSS, corporates, imperialists and BJP, Congress to loot the people. Greatest leaders in the past have ditched mass movement world over for various reasons like commission, lack of understanding of revolution, politics, economy, unable to resist greed of becoming darling of corporates’ media(memory of Anna writing to Rajnath Singh, seeking his help to erect his own statue in UP is fresh), or whatever they may be! They must be dumped as soon as possible to save the scatterings of the revolutionary flame!

Modi takes the reins of India’s government

Modi takes the reins of India’s government

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2014/05/28/indi-m28.html

Simple but accurate analysis of rise of rightist forces in India. Incidentally, Congress and BJP do not have any qualitative difference, may be quantitatively they differ. So they complement each other for retaining power of Corporate world and checks power passing to pro people party!

I differ on you prefixing Stalinist to CPI/CPM as you yourself agree, these parties supported Congress policy of pro Corporate policy in name of keeping communal forces like BJP away from the power, though in last year, Congress was surviving without these "Lefts".

Shazia Ilmi Quits AAP

I had an opportunity to hear Shazia Ilmi in Feb, 2014 in Constitutional club, Delhi, where the central committee meeting was on. Her topic, I am not sure, but that time she was talking on nonviolence and was at pains to explain her audience what it means? Thinking bad about others is violence, forget about verbal and physical violence, and in turn, her talk was more religious than political and I could make out loss of interest in the audience.

Well I am not here to recount her thought process or ideology. She was one of the founder members of AAP. Her effort to get into Delhi VS or LS had failed. After not so good show by AAP where it polled approximately 2% of total votes cast and managed 4 MPs, where it was expected to rise as a major force, led to major bickering in AAP.

AAP, though declared time and again by AK that it was neither left nor right, has left orientation. This inclination, I term as ‘natural selection’ by this party due its stand not only against corruption, say JLPB, but also with peasants, workers, contract labourers, rag pickers etc and as such was against any form of exploitation by the present capitalist system, where women are the worst sufferers. It will not be out of context to remind readers that AAP was not against capitalism, but against evils of capitalism that is crony capitalism.

Accordingly, AAP adopted “Democratic Centralism” wittingly or unwittingly for its organizational work, which is developed by the Leftist parties and in short it means (and is not in synch with Swaraj) -

1. All directing bodies of the Party, from top to bottom, shall be elected.

2. Party bodies shall give periodical accounts of their activities to their respective Party organizations.

3. That there shall be strict Party discipline and the subordination of the minority to the majority.

4. That all decisions of higher bodies shall be absolutely binding on lower bodies and on all Party members.

What it means in short is that, decision will be taken by the party at all levels and once taken will be binding on all members, minorities. If in disagreement, there may be debate and if not agreed by the party, old decision will hold and if some members still disagree, they are to follow party line or quit the party. This sounds undemocratic especially to AAP volunteers but that’s the reality.

Here is one example; Captain Gopinath joined AAP and later opposed its stand on FDI! This was wrong on the part of Gopinath, he should have known the party line on FDI and had no right to oppose it once being implemented. By the way, stand on FDI was not taken by discussion among the members, but was decided at the time of its launch by its founding members and those who wanted to join the party, had to accept it.

Second example is that of forming of the Delhi government, where the AAP went to the people to decide where to form it or not. Leaving the government was the decision of central committee.

Shazia Ilmi failed to grasp this. As far as Binni was concerned, was an opportunist and quit as he was not getting what he demanded. Shazia, a committed member of AAP, failed to understand the internal democratic functioning. She was disheartened by the defeat of AAP, sadly, deserted it at a time when AAP is passing through a bad time, AK in jail, many members and volunteers are angry with its performance. Worst, she blamed the central leadership of dictatorship, where she got all supports when there was farce sting operation against her and her communal remark and herself was part of the central leadership!!

The episode of Shazia Ilmi was big enough to be highlighted in almost all media and many other party representatives gleefully passed sarcastic remarks on ‘inner fight’ of AAP. These are the same people who discarded AAP as non-existent and said there was no need to discuss about it further.

Well, AAP has still time to collect its cadres, have a basic constitution on organisation, ideology, and politics written and explained. Swaraj demands lower to top, but hardly any downward movement, whereas democratic centralism is the mobility of decision both ways (Compare it with undemocratic organisational set up of Congress, BJP and any other regional parties)! This is not a huge contradiction, but due lack of understanding, such embarrassing moments are followed and must be addressed to lead the mass for better India!

NOTA's Far Raching Effect on Indian Democracy!!

NOTA (None of the above) got more than 60 lakhs, which is 1% of total votes, more than many other political parties! 4.4 lakhs Gujarat voters pressed NOTA button, maximum of them from rural areas, yes not from urban Gujarat!

This meant, these voters determined, got ready, went to the booth, got into the queue, reached polling machine, and pressed NOTA button.

In recently conducted Vidhan Sabha election in 6 states, number of NOTA votes were 14 lakhs! That indicates, ratio wise, number of NOTA voters relatively did not increase on all India level, yet this number is alarming. This is more relevant, when one understands the teeth less NOTA. SC had rejected the plea to make NOTA more powerful by rejecting the winner if he gets less than NOTA votes, and go for fresh election.

Something new is emerging in Indian democracy. Even if NOTA remains powerless, its effect will be telling on the “biggest democratic country in the world”, as its number will rise. Legally Indian politicians and their financiers, namely the big corporates and MNCs/FDIs, electronic media, etc will still claim victory of democracy but morally they will be rejected by the people. Worse, even separatists, terrorists will join and may even force many individuals to refrain from voting and weaken our parliamentary democracy, which is already hollow due extreme corruption, crime, notwithstanding the present victory of BJP!

This is alarming, not for the political parties as they are like ostrich and have become more arrogant after failure of rise of people in 2012 for JLPB and now the failure of AAP to emerge as an alternate, but for the people themselves who want a new India, which must provide employment, respectful life to them!

In short, NOTA is an instrument in the hands of people of India to reject the parliamentary democracy, reject the present system without even uniting under some revolutionary party and making a path for people’s democracy! This is not day dreaming, but very soon, may be in the present Vidhan Sabha election, NOTA may emerge as the 3rd largest party and threaten the very foundation of pseudo Indian democracy!!

Should not the true democratic parties demand for empowering NOTA, that is, reject victory of any candidate if he polls less than the mighty NOTA?

Lessons of Election 2014/India

The great festival of “Democracy” that is election, is over. Result is out. BJP under leadership of Narendra Modi is likely to form government in Delhi without hitch. Whether, this was expected or not, is an entirely different matter and am not interested to dwell on this as 100s, no 1000s of such analysis is already available on various media, news channels, blogs and will continue to flood them for weeks to come.

What did common man get? AAP whatever did was on expected line, though the result is not commensurate with its effort. They may blame this on the corporate world and their “Chaukidars” Congress, BJP and their various allies directly or indirectly and corporates’ controlled media. Left is almost washed out due Right’s onslaught, though it is unimaginable, at a time when the working class is in utter destitute due very high inflation, unemployment, corruption and crime by the state, its machinery and their top and lower ranking officials during the world’s longest recession. Anyway, this is Left’s headache to do “Concrete analysis of concrete situation”.

So, what did the common man, peasants and workers get in this holiest feast of Indian Democracy, called the biggest democratic country in the world? Just to remind our readers, we house 10 Crore child labours in fields, highway hotels/Dhabas and houses as helpers rather in schools, 8 Crore roofless ‘humans’ and 2 Crore women who sell their bodies to get basic subsidies and now to ‘improve’ their status we have stamped them as ‘sex workers’.

What is the situation of our big and medium class corporate? GDP, GNP, National income growth is less than 5%. Does this mean our people’s income is rising at this slow pace? NO! The growth rate of our corporate or their profit rate has gone down. This is due global economy going into recession since 2008 and unlike in the past, there is no sign of recovery, forget about a boom. Export of natural wealth, like ore, raw material, which ‘belongs to them’ has crumbled and the available market has shrunk abroad and at home, making their profit to shrink further. This has also affected INR crashing against USD and other major currencies.

So, all the drama by the oppositions was against this falling “GDP” as their bosses were not happy. The ruling party was already discarded by the corporates which wanted a ‘strong’, pro capital and anti-workers policy firmly to be implemented! Eye opening example is Egypt!! Mass rising, ruler removed, election followed, people’s government formed, ‘progressive forces’ rising against the new government to safeguard the revolution from the religious clichés, Army takes over and finally state machinery including judiciary butchers 100s of protesters, 1000s of workers are put behind bars, close to 1000 protesters are sentenced to death, ‘profit rate’ of corporate rises, Egypt and USA are happy!!!!!

The present rise of people, all over India, was spontaneous with Anna and his team, government had to bow and promise for strong JLPB, even though this was not a panacea for their miseries, but sooner than later, government and opposition’s treacheries were exposed. Movement was to be usurped by the RSS and BJP as demanded by their common masters, the Corporations; Congress was to be dumped for at least 5 years, Arvind Kejriwal sensed this diversion, formed AAP and Delhi VS election followed, minority government formed, fell and in due course the present election followed and the result is in front of us.

It’s not AAP which lost the battle, but it’s the people who lost the war. Once again, they found their interest in religion, caste, creed, region and worse in a personality cult, national chauvinism!!
What the Left and the progressive forces did? In this election too, they joined the rest of the parties to ‘strengthen’ parliament, which before starting this time, we knew was full of corrupts, criminals and rapists, which is going to make ‘law’ for us, as in the past, so that we behave and let the Corporations exploit us peacefully!

Ha, ha, the above paragraph sounds so simple and silly to be true, but there is no other explanation to tell us why we are so poor, unemployed and humiliated every day despite India having massive natural resources and being advanced technologically? Yet, to demolish this simple system, where we are exploited daily and in very simple as well as complicated way, though not impossible, we have to follow extremely complicated, dangerous and difficult path that is revolution. Can you imagine, it was AAP, which was fighting for only a corruption free society, fighting to make Capitalism pure, free it from its cronyism, there was such a hue and cry, state machinery, corporations, media went against it, Congress, BJP and other allies joined together, its members were abused, kicked and even murdered. What will happen if there is genuine revolution, where people were to rise to take over the power by force, demolish existing state and its wings, and expropriate the Corporations and others who had been expropriating them so far!!

People are deceived again as usual, though this deception cost much more than in past and as a result people will be ‘punished’ accordingly by planned inflation, corruption!

Whatever, this rise of people has seen its apex, now only down slide has to follow! Revolutionary tide does not wait for some party or leaders to exploit it!! Anna and others are history now. AAP may save some of the fire and the glory of people’s rise by leading them for a better society. Final analysis is that people were losers and their loss will bring out many lessons for future generations to learn as always happens!
Say no to Reform, yes to Revolution!
